Believe It!
I want you to close your eyes and use your brain for a moment with me. Think of a girl that weighs about 230 pounds. She has a few kids, has a good size front butt, not too bad legs. A slight double chin, regular size ankles. Can you see her in your minds? She is about 5"6'. Does that help? Okay now that you have your big girl in your mind. Dress her in athletic wear down to the shoes. How does she look? A little out of place, maybe, but dress her anyway. She might need two sport bras to help wield the beasts. There you go. So, now you have your chubby girl in running clothes, ready to go. What are you going to do with her? No, don't give her a donut, she obviously doesn't need it. I have an idea. Let's drive her to Bryce Canyon and have her run 13.1 miles. NO, you say? Oh yes, I say. She can do it. She has been running since May and she can do it. Perhaps she will place 356th overall out of about 1000 people, 92th in her age group with a finishing time of 2:35:08.8. Crazy idea, I know, but if this big girl can do it, so can you!

Nice imagery, I am very sure and pretty much positive that you are exaggerating. (See picture below) Congrats!!!!! I am very impressed. I know for a fact that I could not do that. I can barely run the short distance run on my wii fit. Props Lydia!
Honey, I'm soooo freakin proud of you! Way to go! However, you are way too hard or yourself and exaggerate! :) But, I'm still very proud of you for doing what you did! One day, I'm going to try one of those, but for now, I'll let you tell me all about them! :)
You are absolutely AMAZING!! Anyone who can run like that should be absolutely proud of herself, since the very thought of running makes me tired! Congrats! Congrats!
Kim

What a witty writer you are! I really didn't believe it until I saw the picture. Way to go! People like you inspire me to do something ambitious and athletic. I love that you admit your boys fight all the time. I'm sure they are just the best of friends on the good days.
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. I am sure that you could all do it to. That was the idea I was trying to convey. If I can do it, so can you!
Wow, so inspiring! Very cool and impressive.
Lyd, you are my hero! One day I might jump on the bandwagon with you and Brad but until then I will always cheer for you from the sidelines!
Way to go.... I am very impressed. Im sure that I could never do that. The thought crosses my mind now and again, but the then it is replaced by the thought of me lying in the middle of road having a heart attack slowing down people like you that really can do something so amazing... Keep up the good work. You should be very proud of your self. I love the picture too. I almost she a tear because I was so impressed:) And I love the picture, you know Im always looking for great places like that for a kodak moment.
That is so awesome! Good job! I have never attempted to run that far and I don't think I could. I love your picture of you running through the finish line! Way to go!
Lydia--- I love all your comments and stories. I ran a half marathon once and had no desire to do it again... So I know how hard and tiring it is!! GOOD STINKIN JOB.. I am impressed keep it up.
First off, Lydia, way cute blog. Thanks for your your words on my blog. I love the thought that Barry's life can affect so many different people. Yes, I totally am in awe too... and I had front row seat to see it for myself. Isn't it way too hard to be that nice? He proved it possible:).
Hey Lydia, it's just me, Carrie Goulding. I am blown away, way to go on that HUGE run- Wowie-ZOW! I can't even run 1 mile, and I'm not just saying that, my body starts hurting before into the second block, so that my friend, is a huge acomplishment, yay for you!
Seriously way to go. That rocks. I love the sense of accomplishment that comes from doing something like that.
Well done Lydia! Now it is your turn!!! "I want YOU to close YOUR and imagen with me. Think of a girl that weighs about 135 pounds. I don't know fore sure I weigh 9.5 stones (sounds better then pounds huh?) She has no kids, is off for the summer with work, has a pretty lazy week a head of her while her husband works and she scrapbooks, (ya I can hear you know "B****") Now dress her in the latest on sale running get-up. She is outside streching for a moment, looking at her neighbors ice-cream truck, ready to run. She straps her i-pod on her arm and places the headphones in her ears. This girl looks ready to run all day, and then some. Well she starts with a nice quick get your blood moving kind of song and a good jog to get the "run" started. She does well during the frist song but wants to kill her self during the second song. She keeps running into the third song and then wants to curl-up on the ground and forget she started this disire to run. So lets see this young, body of a non mother, dresses for success girl can make it about 6 minutes 8 tops before her face is red and she is reminded why she hates to run. And she quickly things to herself "I admire those that can run, and those that run marithons, and those that run for fun." Congrats Lydia I wish I had it in me to do something like that!!
Lydia, I am so proud of you! I ran a half marathon shortly after my mission and it definitely is a feat indeed! I think it is so great that you are doing that! I enjoy your blog! Annie.
Lydia, Your dad told my dad that you ran that's awesome. Your blog had me laughing so I had to tell my dady about it and he was laughing. You should definately be proud of the fact that you did it, more than I could do... Hope all is well
